1 Year Blogoversary!

It was a year ago that I wrote this post: Why Blog?  I was really clueless at the time.  I had been reading a few of blogs (for just a short couple of months) and was really curious about this whole blogging thing.  My husband was the one who encouraged me to start my own blog.  I told him I didn't know what I was doing...and he told me I could figure out the details as I went along.  This usually isn't my style...I like to know exactly how everything works before I jump right in.  But, my husband knows me well...and if I had waited until I knew exactly what I was doing I would still be sitting here reading blogs and trying to figure out all the little details!  I'm so glad I jumped right in...otherwise I would have missed out on this past year of blogging and all the little things I want to remember that have made this season in my life so special.

On #5 of my list (Why Blog?) I wrote that I wanted my blog to be a conversation with others...a way to connect with people who share common interests and values.  When I wrote this a year ago...I really had no idea what I was really in for!

This has turned out to be my absolute favorite part of blogging.  YOU the readers, the women I have gotten to know through blogging...women that I am thrilled to call my friends.  The support and encouragement and kind words I get from your comments means more to me than I could ever express.   I have loved getting to know you and your families.  I love trying your recipes and seeing your craft ideas.  I love hearing about your faith, the way you parent, your date nights, your thriftyness and how you make your house a home.  I love it all, and I am truly inspired by all of you.  I have come to know such amazing women.

This past year, I was encouraged by another blogger to write about having an only child.  It was the hardest post I've written, but also the most rewarding.  It's something I don't usually talk about.   I still look back over the comments you left me and my spirits are lifted immediately.

I felt supported when I posted about my embarrassing DMD addiction.  You waited patiently...even though I left you hanging for three months before my soda update.  I felt you cheering me on.
You have given me advice on boy's shoes, and paint colors...and  I have enjoyed sharing fun recipes and crafts with you.  You have continued to come back even though I am not the best writer, I don't take the greatest pictures and I talk way too much about my son and his passion for tennis!  Anyway, I just want you to know how much I appreciate all of you who continue to read my blog and leave me such kind comments.

I have really enjoyed recording little snippets of our life this past year. It's the perfect creative outlet for me that I was hoping it would be.   And, even though I don't have all those little details about blogging figured out just yet...I am enjoying the learning process.

Thanks so much for making my first year of blogging such a
 FUN and MEMORABLE one!

What would I do without you?!?! :))

Meeting you through blogs has been such a blessing in my life. We have so much in common with each other. I know if we were neighbors we'd be shopping, eating cupcakes, drinking margaritas and just having a ton of fun, all the time!

Love this post. Happy blog anniversary!

Kerri - Congratulations on your Blogaversary!!
I agree with your whole heartedly. I started my blog to have a journal about my life and I got much more in the form of friends and people I could talk to. The things you mentioned are all things I really enjoy also.

Congrats on your first year of blogging! I would have thought you were blogging forever. Your blog is so cute and nicely done. You have a wonderful family and it's fun to read about your life and all the great things you do. At the end of every year I put my blog in book form. It becomes a journal to me and it's so cool to see it in print. Hopefully my kiddos will appreciate reading it some day when I'm not here to bug them!

Well, I for one am glad your hubby encouraged you too. I love coming here. Really! I do!! Let's party bloggy style. I'll go get the mini cadbury eggs and sit in front of the screen eating it all alone.

Happy one year! I celebrated mine last month. I did it on a whim since I wasn't even reading any other blogs at the time and I too have been blessed so much by all the amazing people out here in blogland.

Congrats. To have persevered for a full year... many bloggers do not accomplish that. So many great posts you shared. I've read some and just had the chance to read others. Here's to many more years of story telling.

I sometimes feel like reading blogs is like picking up a favorite magazine full of friends. The highlight of my morning as I drink that first cup of coffee. Hmmm . . maybe DMD for lunch?
