A Fashion Wannabe

I found these earrings today at a thrift store for $1.00.
(They're a coral color..and much prettier than my picture shows!)

As soon as I saw them, I knew they would go perfectly
with this outfit that I saw on Pinterest.....

Pinned Image

Now, if I could just find the outfit!
I'm not very good at putting things together...I'm pretty basic over here.
I think that looking at outfits on
Pinterest might be helpful for someone like me.
And maybe a personal shopper and a
little extra cash might be helpful for me too!

Have a FUN weekend!

Pumpkin and Pizza

My book came in the mail yesterday!  I stayed up pretty late reading it....and so far, so good.  I will definitely post my thoughts once I'm finished with it.  I'm not the fastest reader...so, it may take a few days.  When Brady brought in the mail yesterday, he said, "What's this?"  I said, "it's a book on how to get your kids to listen!"  He seemed appalled that I would buy such a book!

Look what I found yesterday at Walmart.....

I probably should have bought more...but geeez!  They were almost $2.00 a can.  Last night I made pumpkin muffins and this morning I enjoyed one after my pumpkin smoothie.  Life is good.

The card behind my muffin is for my mom.  I feel bad that I haven't done a very good job lately of putting little notes in the mail.  Yesterday at Walmart I had a fall picture of Brady printed to suprise her with.  Since all of my pictures are stored on the computer it seems I never get prints anymore.  I think the print was 40 cents...but it will make her day...I guarantee it.

My friend Toni shared a pizza recipe with me that she tried last week.  So of course, I needed to try it too.   I made them for dinner last night...and they are definitely worth sharing!

Ingredients

Pizza dough
pesto
mozarella cheese
parmesan cheese
tomatoes

These were so good!  I bought the Walmart brand pizza dough found where the tubes of cookies are biscuits are.  I think they would make easy little appetizers too.

Hope life is good today for you too!

Short, Easy ,Stylish Hair

I usually get the itch to cut my hair off in the fall.
In the summer I like it long so I can pull it back in a
pony tail or clip. My hair is thick and curly and does
it's own thing in the summer.

But fall, that's when I get my hair back.
But only after about 30 minutes of blowing it out with a big
round brush and lots of product!

We're still waiting for fall like weather around here.
It's been very humid lately...which means not so good
hair days...which means a desire for some change.
I really get tired of spending so much time on my hair...
and then having it not look good anway.

I took some pictures of myself doing my hair today.
I hope you don't think I'm full of myself..it did feel a little
weird when I was taking them!

I've been checking out short haircuts on Pinterest.
I've had lots of bobs in the past...and would really like to try
something different...maybe a little shorter.  If a bob is too full...
I can easily look like a mushroom head with my thick hair!

One thing that worries me is that I would get a haircut that is
old ladyish.  Definitely don't want that!  My face is also fuller
right now....it could have something to do with the 10 lbs I gained this summer....so short hair is only going to make me look chubbier...right?  I think that will be my incentive for
getting a new haircut....lose the 10 lbs first!

Geez, I have rambled enough.  I think I could talk about
hair all day!

Here are some of the cuts that caught my eye.
What do you think?

Hoping For A Miracle....

I just ordered this book this morning...

I'm really hoping it will help with some issues we're having
here at home.  Lately things have been a little rocky...to say the
least.  I hope my new book gets here SOON!
Anyone read this book?

Have a great week!

Olioboards.....

Have you ever heard of Olioboard?
I just came across it yesterday...and boy is it addicting!
You can create interior design moodboards to get the
look and feel of a space.  This is actually perfect for me because decorating doesn't come easily to me.
( I really don't have any sense of style at all! )  I like that you can put looks together to see if they work together or not.   You can choosethe flooring, fabrics, furniture, accesories, etc.
And, the cool thing about it is, everthing can be purchased.
The store and cost are available with each item.

Here are a few boards that I liked that were posted
by other people- very similiar to Pinterest!

And, here's the first board that I created....

So, this is what I did today instead of doing laundry and
all the other things I had on my list!

*What's up with the blogger changes?  I just clicked on my blog and saw this post published...
but I never hit the publish button because I wasn't finished with it.  I'm sure I'll get used to it...but with
the recent changes to facebook and now blogger...I'm feeling a little out of sorts!

Eight and a Half

Yesterday we celebrated Brady's 1/2 birthday.
It's the second year in a row we've done this...which means it's now a tradition!
I got the idea from Cindy's blog
And, while some people may think this is a little over the top...
I think, we only have one child...so why the heck not?!

I made the kit-kat cake again...only smaller.
I used one cake mix and one can of frosting.
Last year we got Brady a book to open...but I ran out of
time and didn't get him a little gift.
He was thrilled with the cake and never asked about a gift.
I should have known....he's never been about the gifts.
But that boy sure does get excited over chocolate cake!

We sang "half-y birthday"
Brady asked about ice cream to go with the cake...
we told him there's no ice cream on half birthdays. ;)

We love you Beans!

Happy 8 and a 1/2!

Finally!

Yesterday, I said goodbye to my cell phone of 8 years......

(I'm the last person in the state of PA to have one of these flip phones)

It has served me well....and although I will miss the easy-ness of it....

I am so excited to get a new and improved one!  One that has texting, and internet and all
kinds of other stuff that I have no idea how to use yet!

Isn't she pretty?!

And, she's all mine except Brady seems to think she's ours to share......but, no.  Not this time.

Eric tried to suprise me almost 2yrs ago with a new phone...but I returned it.
I wasn't ready for the change.  Now, I'm older and wiser...and want to be cool like the rest of the population.

Text me!  :)

Mentally Exhausted

It rained this evening...so Brady did a "garage workout."

This boy pushes all my buttons.
His need to do everything perfect is draining to me.
If he doesn't do something right the first time....or feels he hasn't done his best....
watch out...all  H E double hockey sticks breaks loose.
His tennis skills for an 8 year old are through the roof amazing.
Why can't that be enough?
He practiced in the garage for an hour and fifteen minutes.
He wanted Eric to help him with some footwork drills...
he fussed and argued and then mastered it and then....
was happy as can be.
Tonight was just one of those nights when bedtime couldn't come soon enough.
He drives me crazy.

Fall Is In The Air

Yesterday Megan at Living the Dream posted THIS recipe for taco soup.  Since 2/3 of our house loves everything mexican, I knew I wanted to try it.  So, when my husband came home for lunch today, I suprised him with it.  I say suprised because, if he comes home for lunch, we usually just have a sandwich or a salad.  Anyway, he was pretty excited when he walked in the door and smelled the taco soup.  And let me tell you, it was so good!  And so easy!  This soup is definitely a keeper!  Thanks Megan for sharing the goodness!

Yesterday I made a few of these pretzels things that I saw on Pinterest.  I used the white chocolate because it's what I had in my pantry...but I'm thinking milk chocolate would have made the candy corn stand out more.  Brady took them to share with the tennis team....I don't think they cared what kind of chocolate was on there...they were gone within minutes!   Oh, and one thing about Pinterest.   Everyone is raving about it...and I'm feeling like I'm the only one who doesn't get it.  I've only been on the site a few times...maybe I need to give it another chance?!  I don't want to be the only one who hasn't fallen in love!

Flashback Friday {Cars Party}

When Brady turned 3, we had a Cars themed birthday party for him.
It was a simple party with mostly family and a few friends.
Aren't simple parties the best?!
Since Cars2 is out in theatres now, I thought I would post a few fun party ideas.

We filled the gas can with lemonade....the kids were a little leary about drinking it!
Just so you know...the gas can was new and clean.
I borrowed the tire from a nearby service station.

I made the cake....it wasn't the most creative, but it was cheap!

The birthday boy!  Three was a tough, but fun age.
Oh what I would give to go back!

Waiting patiently for guests to arrive!

Have a FUN weekend!
