Cookies and Tennis

My two favorite guys had a movie night/campout in the livingroom Friday night.
They do this about every 5 or 6 weeks.
I'm usually not invited....but that's okay, I'm not a big fan of the movies they like anyway.
I'm good at making and getting the snacks together for the campout!
I made these cookies.
I cannot find the site where I had seen them a while back.

It's just a chocolate chip cookie recipe wrapped around an oreo.
I think they were a pound each.
They were heavenly.
I gave some to the neighbor who plowed our driveway again.

We watched the men and womens Australian Open Finals this weekend.
I'm glad it's over...we have spent too much time in front of the t.v. the past two weeks.
Eric and I are too old to stay up until midnight everynight...we don't function as well the next day!
It was really cool that Novak Djokavich and Andy Murray were the in final.
We watched them play together in New York this summer for the US Open Kids Day.

One last thing about tennis...and then I'll be done.  Promise.
Brady had a match last night against a 16 yr old boy who is on the highschool team.
Now, he's not the greatest player, but at 16, you're much more coordinated than you are at 7.
Brady didn't seem nervous at all to be playing him.
In fact, he was very confident.
Brady lost 9 games to 4.
Afterward,  Brady was excited and thrilled with how well he played.
To me, Brady's attitude is more important than whether he wins or loses.
But I will say this...at the rate he is going...in 9 yrs, Brady will  not be playing against any 2nd graders.
That just wouldn't be fair.  :)

Oh good grief, those cookies look so good, and I'm trying to lose 10 pounds this month! :)

My mom loves watching tennis on tv too, so does Kevin. That is so cool that Brady played an older boy and was proud of how well he did. I think Brady has such a great attitude! He's gonna be famous one day, I just know it! :)

ok, your recipes alone are going to cause about 10 pounds of winter weight gain - I love them ALL!!!! Seriously, I think I might need to start a "Kerri" cookbook/craftbook!!

Totally cool about Brady playing a 16 year old and getting some wins - and his attitude is really amazing, THAT'S why he's destined for greatness with this sport - that combined with his natural talent?! Look out, USTA!!

So glad I stumbled across your blog. I'm a huge tennis fan and played a lot until my kids were born, so it's fun to find a blog like yours that mentions some tennis tidbits. I was thrilled to see Li Na in the final. Hope she keeps of the great playing. Oh, and those cookies....they look scrumptious! Have a nice day!

Brady is such a doll. I swear I can't get over his maturity and passion for tennis. He is definitely going to go places in the sport. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Brady is the ultimate athlete. Seriously! He has the best attitude and just loves the game, that's what it's all about. Winning is just a bonus, really.
Now about those cookies. A chocolate chip oreo cookie?! I swear some kid came up with that recipe, or a woman with PMS. Either way...I'm going to have to try that out.

I saw those cookies on someone's blog but they didn't look as heavenly as yours. Hubs would die!!
I love that Brady is such a big kid when it comes to competition and really understanding what it's about. Must have good parents...wink.

Bday?? Happy Belated Bday, Kerri! Those cookies look amazing!! My family would love them! I have 3 in tennis right now. Attitude is the most important factor! My oldest is hoping to make the high school (cringe, already?) team next year. Here is what the coach said: yes, please bring her as often as she can come. We will work with her and she will play next year. " Isn't that sweet? It explains why our girls h.s. team WON state this year! great job Brady!! hugs, Cathy
