One Week Before School Starts

I'm feeling a little sad and panicky today.
Next week is our last full week before school starts.
I always get this way.
Like I won't see my son until next summer or something?
Our lazy days of hanging out with each other will be over.
I love summer.
The school year is so long.
Schedules, homework, bedtimes, alarm clocks, packing lunches.
Every school year my son gets older and taller.
He learns new things.
He becomes more independent.
We've had a really fun summer.
Some of our best days were the ones where we didn't even leave the house.
I'm so very thankful that I got to be home with my son everyday.
It usually takes me a couple of months when school starts to get used to him being in school all day.
I'm really going to miss him.

Kerri I feel your pain. . .I posted about it after Christmas break last year. I really miss my kids when they go back to school. And it just seems like the stress level goes up with school. Trying to keep the kids and teachers all happy is full time job!!

We'll have to have a support group going or something!

I always get a little melancholy before school start too, but get caught up in the swing of things quickly. We are in our second week of school and it's going well. SO FAR......

I feel the exact same way. Even when they are at home driving me crazy with their bickering, I love having them with me. I get sad when school starts and when it ends, because school goes so fast and it seems to age them so fast. It's a hard part of motherhood, that's for sure. :) We go back Monday, so I'll be sad then. I'll think of you in a week! :) What grade is Brady going into?

Oh Kerri I hear you!!
We actually start next week too....I think?!? Believe it or not our teachers went on strike(?!?) We were supposed to start two days ago.

It seems like school really does age them and just being around other people all day and getting influenced by others...yuck! Homework...studying...eww!
I like my days lazy how about you?
Lets remember this feeling and make every moment count!
Enjoy the day

Hi! My daughter's name is Brady, too. She is the youngest of my 4 children. I know how you feel about school starting. It's so nice to spend time with your children/child on a leisurely basis.

He sure is handsome!

I can understand how you feel, even though Boyd will only be in Mother's Day out twice a week. I love being with him, I miss him so much when he is gone. I do love and look forward to the break though. But, I am sure once he starts real school, I will feel just like you. Summer is so nice because there is no schedule, homework, etc. You are such a great mom and I know he loves being with you! :)

ps....i've been meaning to say thank you for your comment the other day when I was feeling blue and yucky about my blog as well. I feel like you. I like to just read a few right now. I love the "close" friends I've made through blogging.
