A Common Scene On Sundays

The Amish love to play volleyball.
There were two different games going on this evening.
They're practicing for the big Amish Volleyball Tournament next weekend.  There were hundreds of Amish people in the field visiting and watching the teams play.  I was only able to grab this quick picture as we drove by.
You didn't think the Amish  worked all the time did you?!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

ok, between this photo and that 10 on 10 pic that included the cow traffic jam, I can't get over how different our daily sights and sounds are right outside our windows ... too funny!!

I have never seen anything like that! I live in Houston and it is almost 100 degrees here everyday so I couldn't imagine the Amish having a great time playing volleyball with all the extra clothes on! I think we'd have an Amish Heat Stroke event if this were to happen in my town! Thanks for sharing!!

OK Blow me over with a feather I never would have guessed that the Amish have volleyball tournaments!

I have wanted to visit Amish country all my life it is on my bucket list - funny how this is just a common sight for you :-D

That is so far from what I would have expected. I can't imagine them spiking in those outfits! Cool photo.

I never knew! ;o) They must know the saying about "all work and no play". haha

Yes, I have only one child. And I know what you mean! It seems we're in a lonely club around blogger land. I don't know how mom's with multiple children keep everything straight. :o)

I love that the girls are sitting in the grass smiling as you took the pic!
And no, I never would have pegged teh Amish as volleyball players!

I had no idea! How about that...I was expecting to see Brady and a bunch of tennis balls! That must be a different common scene for most days...not just Sundays!:)

Great pic as the Amish really don't want their picture taken. As you know we live in Amish country too and it's funny the things you never expect to see in their culture. Love the girls and the big smiles!

I agree with Sloan-- such different views from right outside our windows!

I also live near a lot of Amish. I've never seen them playing volleyball though. Lots of picnicking and baseball.

I love the picture! You know I love the fact that you snapped a photo as you drove by. They are so intriguing to me. I just watched a show last night about Amish weddings. Definitely a different lifestyle than ours!!!!

How funny is that - that must be an East PA Amish thing....I've never seen anything like that in Western PA. Wonderful shot - and out of a moving car to boot - good job.

I've seen the Amish playing volleyball in southwestern Wisconsin, too! Along Hwy 14 between Viroqua and Readstown.
I was also so surprised to see the Amish playing volleyball that I laughed so hard I almost drove off the road!
