A Truffle Trick

Many of you commented about how nice my truffles look...thank you for your kind words!
I just wanted to share with you a little trick that I do that gives them this look.
It's a little time consuming...but well worth it.
Unless your not giving your truffles away as a gift...then it's okay to leave as is.
Anyway...
You know when your dipping your balls  truffles and you sit them on the wax paper?
The bottom of the truffles usally have dried chocolate spilling over the balls on the bottom.
I take a little paring knife and trim off the excess chocolate....all around each truffle.
This gives them a much cleaner look.
There you have it!
Happy beautiful truffle making!

Kerri, Kerri, Kerri,
First, LOVE that pic of Brady!
Second, that's a lot of work for pretty truffles! But, they do look awesome.

Oh bugger! I just read that I need a food processor. Can you believe out of all the gadgets I have in my home, a food processor is not one of them? DARN IT! Is there another way to make these minus the processor?

Thank you so much for sharing. I make buckeye candy (some people call them peanut butter balls) and the same thing happens.

Good tip, I will try that next time! I got my baker's twine at Crate and Barrel. It was only $7.99 for that huge roll! I picked up two since it is impossible to find anywhere else.

Great truffles...good thing I have a food processor! I, too, was amazed that you were raised in Mansfield!! I'm there all the time. Small world, huh?

HI Kerri - I have to say, you're in another league with those truffles, girl! I wanted to swing by and say thanks for all of your super kind words @ my 11 years worth of card photos ... lucky for me, having cooperative subjects who like to smile and laugh really helps me out!!

BTW, we share the same favorite photo out of the bunch, I really love that one too - and, truthfully, that was the photo that more or less set my whole hobby into motion ... like an "a-ha" moment! Thanks again for your nice comments!! PS - did you know the SNL "balls" skit I was talking about? You've got to watch ... you only need 5 minutes, but believe me, it's worth it:

Kerri, you are the bomb-diggity. Is there anything that you don't bake to perfection?! :)
