Window Bulletin Board

I bought an old window at the side of the road for $3.00.  I knew
it would be the perfect size bulletin board to
hang above my desk.

My window I bought was much older...but I forgot to get a picture of it!

I broke the glass out of the window over a garbage can.  The glass came out fairly easy because the window was so old.  I removed the hardware and lightly sanded the window.  I spray painted two coats of black paint on it.  I bought a huge roll of corkboard at a craft store and cut it to fit the back of the window and then stapled it on.  I also added a styrofoam poster board to the back...I'm not sure what they're actually called.  My husband added a couple of eye hooks on the back to make it easier for hanging...as it is a little on the heavy side!

I got a bag
 wooden stars, spray painted
them and hot glued tacks to the back.

The stars are my favorite part of the whole project!

Hi! So cute! What kind of tacks are on the back...the little colored ones? Do you think they would hold up to 2 little boys?
I see lots of great projects for old windows...but I never see old windows for sale anywhere.
Happy day!

Love it! I have an old window too. I have it hanging up over an old hutch just as decor, but I have always envisioned making it a place to hang our family portraits. i absolutely love turning junk into something wonderful.

Oh my heck! I love people who have great ideas and vision. I love that you saw beyond the window and made something totally different from what this thing was intended for. I wish I was creative like that, but I'll have to shamelessly settle for copying ideas from you crafty people out there.

Very cool! I am in search of a matching pair of small old windows to hang on BSD's surf shop since it has no windows. I'd kill to find one for only $3. What a score!
