Countdown to Summer!

My son asked me the other day if we could make a countdown to summer chain.  At first I didn't know what he was talking about.  But then he said, " you know Mom...like the chain we make at Christmas time!"  My son isn't into doing crafts...so I needed to jump on this before he changed his mind!  While we were at it we made a list of things Brady hopes to get to do this summer.  He then suggested we write the ideas on the chain and then put them into a jar so we can remember his ideas!  What a great idea!  Maybe my son has some craftiness in him after all!!!

Brady came up with all the ideas except for feeding the ducks!
I suggested "reading" too but he said , no thanks!

After he tears the chain he puts it in the jar. Not really sure why he wanted to do this.
He said this summer when he pulls
a slip from the jar...we will do exactly what it says on that very day.  Um no...that's not how it will work!

We are very much looking forward to summer!  Can't wait!

What is on your list of things to do this summer?

Okay, I should have known your chain would be all cute with polka dotted paper etc... He cannot help but be a little crafty!
I keep seeing this idea (the summer list). We are going to make our list very soon!!!
I definately think you should do as Brady suggests and do exactly whatever you pull out of the jar that very day! Oh, come on. Ha! Ha!
I think I'll wait and make my own secret chain counting down the days until they go back to school in August. I am so bad! I'll hide it, of course.

We too make a list of things to do, but I am thinking the chain is a great idea! You have got a cute little guy there.
Oh, I am sure our summer plans involve swimming, hiking, camping and water balloons. And yes, reading and reports and science projects, because I am that kind of mom...the mean kind! Oh yeah!!

What a cute idea!!! We are building a home this summer so I think that will pretty much consume us , but we need to do some fun things too!
I can't understand why reading wasn;t at the top of his list!
Have a pretty day!

What a cute idea. I think we will need to make a things to do list for summer too, it seems like summer flies by and we don't get to do all we wanted to do. Thanks for the idea.

Oh he such a sweetie. I love the idea. We've been writing down ideas for daycare fun days. Love the ones you guys have. My son works full time now but has been cut down to 40 hours a week (yep, I know 40 hours is normal but it's a family business and he use to work 56 so he's excited for the 40, means time for mom, at least sometimes. Love it). Graduation is just a 9 school days away. Exciting and scary at the same time.
Thanks for sharing the cute idea. Take care and have a blessed afternoon.

That is a great idea! I think my Little Ballerina may need one of these chains to help her get to summer without getting expelled. :)
