Seriously?!

We woke up to snow on Saturday morning.  What a strange sight to see snow on the fall leaves that are still on the trees.  The earliest I can remember it snowing was a few flurries on Thanksgiving. Usually we do not see snow until mid to late December.  The newspaper said we haven't seen snow in our area in October since 1972.

We were lucky to have only lost our electricity for several hours Saturday afternoon.  Many people in our area are still without power.  I'm hoping the snow is gone for trick or treating tomorrow night.  I'm also hoping that this early snow is not an indication of a long winter yet to come.  Although I do get excited every year for that first snow to fall...I was not as excited as a certain someone in our house to see it so early!

I do have to say though...we really had a great weekend
just hanging out together at home.    Maybe the snow caused us to slow down a bit...and it was just what we needed.

Hope your weekend was great too!

What a weird time for you...a true trick from Mother Nature. I hope she brings a treat with some melting so Halloween isn't spoiled. Have a fun day tomorrow!

Oh my gosh, I heard about that! That would be weird in October...looks like it wasn't just a light dusting either! Here in Michigan we never know when we're going to get hit...so far so good! Glad you got your power back!

WHolly guacamole!! SNOW?!?!? I am not a big fan of COLD weather-- but I do love to play in the snow! We usually only get a few days of it here in TX, but never in October!?

I feel lucky, it passed us by. We are going Trick or Treating tonight and it should be nice out, thankfully. Sorry about your luck, Kerri! The good thing was having a cozy weekend at home. That's what you get for living in such a pretty area of the country....looks like the whole coastline got hit by Mother Nature. I love that area...except for today, Ha!

Kerri, that is totally crazy. I thought about you all weekend and wondered if you got any snow I keep hearing about. It's like you live on another planet or something, I can't even imagine snow in October! :)) I am glad it slowed you guys down though, and you have a good weekend together.

I would have loved to see some snow when we were out there last week. I love snow. Love it.
I hate the slush, the mush, the mess, the dirt, the lost gloves/hats/scarves. I really don't miss that part.

That is super crazy!! I have seen a couple other blogs with snow pictures from the East. It is so beautiful but just a tad too early!

Happy Halloween - I hope Brady doesn't freeze tonight!

Can't believe I missed this post....snow! Goodness Kerri!
The first snowfall is exciting (I love the silence of it!) but not in October! Although I can imagine the girls would have been thrilled.
Let's pray for that warm winter!
have a happy day kerri
