The first Saturday in October we went to a nearby Amish
Farm to get our pumpkins. Brady was asking weeks before
to go...but I have a rule that we wait until October to go. Pumpkins
in September does not make sense to me!
in September does not make sense to me!
We decided to do a little craft that involved the screw gun and
spray paint. These two things had Brady pretty excited from the start! His kind of craft for sure!
First I had him drill several holes into the top of the pumpkin.
We then collected thin branches and Brady gave them two
coats of spray paint.
Brady put the branches into the top of the pumpkin.
Later that evening, we traced bats onto black construction paper
and then cut them out. We hung them with yarn onto our tree.
And here's our bat tree...
I found this little crow at the Dollar Tree.
I think the bird is a nice touch!
Everytime we sit at the table, Eric turns the bird away because it creeps him out to eat with that bird near him.
It makes me laugh.

Great craft, totally cute!
We are hoping to hit the pumpkin patch this weekend!
have a happy day kerri
Love it! and the bird story is hysterical! :)
You never cease to amaze me Kerri. You come up with some really amazing ideas and this one rocks. I need a little black bird...I'm heading to that dollar store.
Boys and power tools...they just seems to go together.
Way cute arrangement. Love the bird touch even if its creepy.
Oh, I love that you make fun of Eric. . .I'm always teasing David about his quirks:)
Love the pumpkin, bat tree. . .very cool!
Love this craft!! It's so cute, and yep, eating with avian creatures would creep me out a little, too :)
So clever...wow! I am in awe of your imagination, Kerri!!!!
Wow! That looks fantastic! You are a great Mom!!
I love it! I had to chuckle about the bird -- I got the same bird at the dollar store. Maybe I should move it to the table to see what my family thinks!?
I love that huge pumpkin in the first picture. Those are so crazy expensive around here. My mom has a bird cage on her back porch and about 10 of those fake birds on it. They always make me think they are real! That is funny that Eric doesn't really like them. :) LOVE that tree that you guys made. Boyd and I need a craft to make today, maybe something like that. Have a good day!
ok, first of all, that pumpkin project is AWESOME!! if that's from pinterest, i haven't seen that one yet - it turned out great, I love it!!
and the crow thing with eric being creeped out?! that is absolutely hilarious - i love how you doctored the photo ... too funny!!
Kerri! This is the cutest ever. And I can see why Brady loved it...power drill AND spray paint = Happy boy! We are hoping to hit the pumpkin patch on Sunday. Fingers crossed for good weather, because in Minnesota you never know what to expect. Happy Wednesday to you!
great project! i can understand not wanting the bird watching you!
What a great craft! I may have to do that with Noah. Hey, those flowers on my blog, called Bloomie's are fabric flowers that I make and sell in my Etsy Shop. But mostly, I sell them to people who see me wearing them, and also to Gennifer's salon. I put both a nickel plated pin, and a large alligator clip on the back of them so that they can be worn on their clothing, or purse, or in their hair. You are so NOT too old for a flower in your hair by the way!!! Everyone is wearing stuff in their hair these days. I say do it!!!
Hugs,
Kris
you are so crafty!!!!
I love everything you put together!!
But I am with Eric... birds scare me to death!!!
Bat tree...so cool!
WE haven't gotten to a pumpkin patch in several years...Wal-mart pumpkins...so lame of me! Funny bird!
What a CUTE idea!
Although, yes, birds can be a bit creepy... ever since I saw that old movie The Birds! lol.
Fun project though, and cute pictures!
hey- are you still thinking of cutting your hair? just wonderin'... :)
Projects you do together are the most fun. Cute.
