Catching Up

I am thinking it's time to check back into my blog!
Your emails wondering where I've been have really touched me.
There's even been some funny ones...like,
are you and Eric okay?  Why do you still have your March header up?
Several of you really thought something was up when I didn't participate in 10 on 10.
I didn't plan to take a break...it just happened.
We've been so busy...and I haven't really felt like blogging.
Tennis takes up a big part of our everyday.
Sometimes I get so bored with tennis. Mentally.
We've also been busy doing yardwork and getting our flower beds ready for mulch.
I've been doing a little spring cleaning.
Brady and I did a 1/2 way trip to visit my mom and sisters for my mom's birthday.
And, I've been planning our summer...trying to fit in a vacation and some fun things...
in between Brady's tennis camps and schedule.

Anway, I did take 10 pictures on the 10th....I thought that would get me back into the blogging
spirit.  But then, I was too tired that evening to upload them.

Here they are....

We had a nice quiet Easter at home....just the three of us.
I made ham for dinner.  It was so nice not to have any plans for once.  We spent a good bit of our day outside doing yardwork.  And of course, Brady begged us to go to the courts later in the day.

Speaking of yardwork, Brady has been such a big help with getting our flower beds cleared out.
It has taken me half the time this spring to get things in order because of the extra hands helping me.
Brady loves a good project, that's for sure.

I can't forget Eric..he does a pretty good job of keeping up with our big yard.  Mowing and trimming are not at the top of his list of things he enjoys doing.  On Easter, he removed a couple of bushes we had at the side of our house.  We don't get a lot of sunlight on that side...and the weeds have always been hard to keep up with over there.  We decided to get rid of the mess and plant grass.  I was worried it would look really bare....and until the grass comes in, I won't know for sure.  But, I think it looks much better than it did before.

Every spring we have this green mossy gross stuff on the side of our house.

And here's how it looks now....

I'm thinking a flower box under that window
might look nice.   My husband doesn't seem to agree with me.
(Something about drilling holes into the siding??? Whatever!)

Brady was off school on Monday....so we went and played mini golf and went out to lunch.  I got beat by 8 strokes!  It's much more fun to play now that we're on even an playing field.  I think it's funny that Brady holds his golf club like he is hitting a backhand in tennis.  We've tried to show him the right way...but he insists on doing it his way.

So, that's what we've been up to.  Not a whole lot going on other than tennis matches, tennis clinics, tennis practice and tennis lessons.  In a couple of weeks, Brady will start playing on a middle school travel tennis team.  He is also in a tennis tournament the next two out of three weekends.  And, he's excited to train to be a ball boy in a pro tournament that is coming to our area this summer.  Lots of exciting things going on for him.  However, it doesn't make for much exciting blog material!  I will try and do better with this little blog of mine!  Thanks so much for checking in on me.  Even if I don't always comment on your blog...please know that I read your blog first thing in the morning...before I get Brady up for school.  Some people start their day with coffee...I start my day with my favorite blogs!

Glad all is well. It is a busy time of year, especially if you have kids in sports. My boys both started baseball and it is every single day! It leaves little time for other things but they love it.

Your yard is humungous!! wow but it is looking good :-D

Hi Kerri,
I figured you must be crazy busy like me. I can identify with your world revolving around tennis, because our kids all played sports. Drew was a basketball guy, and played on travel teams and we lived and breathed it for so many years. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that the years fly by so fast, that in no time you will wonder what to do with yourself with all of your free time when it is over!!! Truly, you will!!!
I think the area that Eric cleared for grass looks wonderful, and tell him I said a window box would be the perfect thing for that window on the right!!!!!
I wish I had a guy like Brady to help me in the yard! Maybe soon I can get Noah to help. We did get all three of the grands to do some heavy labor with moving the big dirt pile!!!
Missed ya,
Kris

I was wondering...really, I was concerned that maybe tennis had taken over your life and was holding you hostage. So I was kinda right. Your yard looks great! Glad you're back. Just in time for May Madness.

Must be the 10th was a good day for car washing!
Its hard being a mom to bigger people isn't it?? You want to support them but you can get bored!

Hang in there!

Looks like you have been busy!
I do love your big yard, I need motivation to get busy in my flower beds too. And I need a little helper.
Glad you had a nice Easter. Great catching up!

Your yard is so big-- and green-- and DREAMY!!
I think your bush-to-grass transformation looks wonderful!! and a flower box will look awesome! ...holes-smoles, Eric!! ;)

I have certainly missed your blog... Did I tell you that I had a dream about you the other night?!?! (weird, I know)
But you came to TX and me, you and Nicolle planned to meet up and then we realized that you really only lived a few houses down...
Now I seem strange[r]-- but I had to share! ;)

I am glad you popped back up... and shared your 10 on 10-- I wasn't worried until you missed it!!

I loved Holly's dream! :)

I was happy to see you post. I know you've been busy. I'm glad we keep in touch even without the blogs though. You've become such a great friend. Your 10 on 10 collage is great. I love that first photo and you and Brady. I also love your house and your yard! Your Easter sounds perfect, and I have to be honest, I would love a holiday with just the 3 of us. Holidays STRESS me out. Have a great weekend.

I was wondering why you were so quiet! Yard work is so time consuming and I put it off every year. Our flower beds have been neglected since before we left for the island and they mock me every time I walk by them! Yours are looking good and a great reminder to get the kids out there to help!

Glad you guys had a nice, low key Easter together!

Yes Real Life has a way of hijacking us from the cyber world. You most certainly have been busy. Spring has a way of motivating me to get working around the house too - so hopefully you can sit back and enjoy the summer. I say YES to the planter box. Filled with geraniums, bacopa and sweet potato vine trailing over the edge. I can see it now. Have a great weekend.

Golly I am relieved. I am glad to see you are back. I was worried but I was hopeful you were just taking a break. Hey, life happens! I love it that you guys are working in your yard, we are too, well, my hubby is, I am just kind of wandering around holding the baby saying, "you missed a weed" aren't I nice? I am not going to complain about this awesome spring weather at all. So happy you are enjoying it too!
