Gifts From The Heart

Brady and I made a batch of oreo cookies truffles (his favorite) and then Brady asked if he could make the next batch all by himself from start to finish.  He crushed the cookies, mixed in the cream cheese, rolled all the balls, melted the chocolate and dipped a good amount of balls before letting me finish the rest.  I could tell he was proud of himself.  Baking in the kitchen with Brady is one of my favorite things to do during the holidays.  Some years he's more attentive than others...and this just happened to be one of those years.  Very enjoyable.

Brady also made pot holders to give to my mom and sisters.

The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.

I still haven't received the Christmas cards I ordered. :(
They were shipped on Dec. 13...but no one seems to know where they are.
I called Snapfish today and they refunded my money.  Even if they come next week,
I'm still going to send them out late.  People will just think I'm not "on the ball"...but
that's okay.  I'm actually not that upset about it...I think I am mellowing out in my older age!

That picture of him on the counter makes him look 12 years old? How is time flying like this?

Homemade gifts are the best, especially sweets. :) Brady looks so grown up in that 2nd picture. Love the pics of you and of Eric too. I'm sorry about your Christmas cards. That stinks, but it's good that you are ok with it all. I think we do mellow out age, and that's always a good thing.

I always mean to make these truffles but am so worn out after rolling cake balls, I promise myself "next year"...

I just sent my Christmas cards out today... I almost didn't do them at all but it is Beckham's FIRST Christmas so I thought I would-- better late than never!!

{{P.S. You can see your "hits" under the stats tab when you originally log into Blogger. It is really neat to look through and gives a lot of different information.}}

OH... and I think Brady looks like you until I see a picture of him with his daddy. In the picture of he and Eric making truffles, their profiles are identical!

Good for you for not being upset about the cards, at times like that, what can you do?

Have a merry Christmas.

shhh...I didn't even do cards this year. Just blew it off completely. Not quite sure why. I think it's b/c I wanted a picture of all of us and BSD wasn't here. :(

Hope your cards show up soon!

Tugs at your heart, huh. Them getting older and more independent and yet watching them become more able to do for themselves. Sniffles.
Now, about that recipe....
