Thumbprint Drawings

I found this book at a garage sale this spring for 25 cents.  I thought it would be perfect for Brady those of us who are not very good at drawing!  The book shows you step by step how to make simple drawings using your thumbprint.  We finally got the book out yesterday and gave it a try.

After we were done with our drawings, Brady asked if he could get the paint out and paint a picture.

It's so cute how he almost always draws the same picture every time.  Although in this picture it looks like it's a WINDY day! :)
See what I mean?  Not everyone can be artistically talented!

I found a newer version of the thumbprint book HERE.

What a great way to spend some time together. I was looking for a tennis playing thumbprint...

I used to do thumb-print art with my third graders. I haven't thought about that for years. Thanks for the memory.

Bless his heart. I can't draw to save my life. I have not one ounce of artist in me. I think his painting is pretty good though! I absolutely love the thumbprint artwork. It's so cute!

Aaack, I left a comment then lost it...so if it reappears forgive my repetitiveness...but as I was saying, that book is awesome! I wonder if the handprint action would give me 15 minutes of time without a child hanging off of me...

Those are so cute. I have seen that book in a catalog and wondered if I should buy it, I think I will. You have to save those because someday he will be all big and grown up and those pictures will be quite a nice reminder of him small. He is such a cutie.

I have several of his books. We went through a phase where almost every card/note letter had a thumbprint scene. There are some very clever ideas in those books. And then Little K decided she didn't want to get dirty any more. You have some adorable artwork there. fun fun fun
