Hi Ho Hi Ho....

I ordered this tote from Thiry-One and it came in the mail the other day...
I love it!  There were so many patterns to choose from...I had a hard time deciding
which one I wanted.   The colors are really fun and it's the perfect size for packing my lunch.
Why do I need to pack my lunch?   Well......

After being home for 8 years, I am heading back to work!  I'm subbing at the elementary school.  Last week, I did title one tutoring.  Tomorrow I will be filling in for the school secretary.  Obviously, it's only part time as needed...but, I'm hoping something more permanent will open up in the future.  I will have to wait and see!

I have loved being able to stay home all these years.  It definitely wasn't the plan.  The plan, was for me to stay home with Brady  just the first year.   We didn't think beyond that and didn't think it would be possible financially.    That first precious year came and went...and the thought of me going back to work never crossed our minds.  It wasn't something we even talked about.   We cut lots of corners and made sacrifices along the way...and we wouldn't have had it any other way.  When I think of how blessed I have been to be home full time with my one and only child, I am overcome with emotion.  I am one grateful mama!

Since Brady started school 2 1/2 yrs. ago...I have been home alone during the day.  It was a big adjustment for me the first few months with him being gone all day.  I was lonely, and felt like school had taken my little boy from me.   Of course,  I got over it and have come to enjoy my alone time.  My husband has always enjoyed me being home too.  We meet for lunch a couple times a week and he takes days off here and there so we can hangout/ go shopping together.  He has always supported me in whatever I have wanted to do.   And, it's because of him that I have been able to be home all this time.

So, hi ho hi ho...off to work I go!

I'm excited and ready!

Hi Kerri! That's funny, my friend Whitney just sent me an invite, she is having a Thirty-One party, and I've been eyeing those totes! Yours is super cute!

Girl, this post made me cry. I get so emotional thinking of Boyd growing up and how fast it goes. I am so happy for you that you are going back to work. I agree that you have been blessed to be home with Brady for so long. I think Eric is an awesome husband too! Best of luck with the new job opportunity. :))

Wow! How exciting! I was just thinking today about when I might re-enter the work (for pay) force. Just thinking about it scares me a little. My life has been so different all these years. Good for you. Are you subbing at the same school Brady goes to? If they're smart they'll find something permanent for you ASAP

I saw the title of this post and thought....nah...really??:) But good for you in the biggest of ways! I think when I finally return to the working world it will be as a sub too. What type of permanent position are you looking for? Teaching? Did you teach before?
It's good to start out part time too, it will give you all a chance to get adjusted!:)
Have a happy day

love that tote bag and have been thinking of getting the girls lunch boxes from there...remind me this summer ok, I know I will forget:)

I bet you will be the favorite sub!
Are you filling in for someone for a while...like maternity leave...or will you be switching around? Brady's school or several schools? I'm sure you will enjoy it...and your lunch will be traveling in style along with you!

I have loved 31 for a long time. I use their lunch totes too!!!

You will make the perfect substitute for elementary students. They will be blessed by your presence, and the lucky teacher who has you to fill in for her!!!! Oh, my! I love a good sub!

Have you thought of applying for a paraprofessional job? Good parapros are so hard to find. Praying for you! When I went back to work it was an adjustment for us all. But, my husband was supportive too and has become so helpful. Have fun!!!!

Wow! I wish you luck! Good substitutes are HARD to find! Did you teach before? My plan is to hopefully go part time soon. I guess I am doing the opposite of what most do. But, having three to get here and there, house to clean, laundry to do, etc, I need the time! Keep us updated. You will have tons to blog about with all the crazy stories you hear/see!

Good luck, Kerri! I admire you for staying home with your son. If not for lack of insurance, I would have done the same. Good luck to you on your new adventure! :)

Congrats Kerri! Your tote is very cute. I have one very similar that I received for my birthday and I love it. It's the perfect size and it has handy containers that came with it and even a cold pack to keep everything cold...good luck with the job and hopefully something permanent will open soon!

Love the lunch bag! So cute!! Good luck with the job! Sounds like it will still allow you to be there for your son and be something for you as well ;-) Congratulations!

Congratulations! That is so great. I hope you enjoy your new venture! Also I love the lunch bag. I have never heard of 31, gotta check it out.

I so love the lunch tote.
I often thought I would go back to work after the kiddos are in school full time, but I still don't seem to be able to find the time. I wouldn't mind working at the kiddos school though. My problem is, if I went back to work I'd get stuck doing all the holiday rotations and extremely ugly hours...NO THANKS! Not interested in that anymore.

Good luck, Keri! I wish you all the best! Thankfully, you'll still be off when Brady get home which is wonderful and on vacation when he's on vacation. I hope everything turns out the way you want! I can't imagine ever returning to work, but I'm in the throws of toddlerhood so I've got a ways to go. I did work when my eldest was younger age 2-5, part time. I really enjoyed it too.

xo,
Tessa

I have always worked at least part time, but think you'll like that job because your hours will be the same as Brady's. That'll be great Kerri!
Good luck that it can be more permanent and life with a new lunch bag is always better!!!

Those are the best places to work...I should know, I've worked at them for the past decade or so of my life. Hope you love it.
