The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies I've Ever Made

I have tried so many different chocolate chip cookie recipes in the sixteen years that my husband and I have been together.  He loves them...and I've never been good at making them.  Most of the cookies I make need to be eaten within 3 minutes of coming out of the oven or you might risk breaking a tooth!  But hopefully for my family, those days are behind us!

Last Thursday after school Brady asked if I could make his teacher chocolate chip cookies for the following day.  (I hate when he doesn't give me any notice!)   I had remembered seeing a cookie recipe on a blog the day before, so I quickly printed it out.  After a long day and walking in the door at 8:15pm that evening, my dear husband offered to help me make those cookies.

They turned out big and soft and were just the right amount of crispy on the edges and soooo good!

You can find the recipe HERE on Tessa's blog.

This will definitely be my go to chocolate chip cookie from now on!
I might just make them again on Wednesday to celebrate the last day of school!

2 more days to go...we are excited!

I love the packaging and I bet Brady's teacher loved getting those. I imagine they are delicious! I don't make cookies very often, but I will keep this recipe in mind. I love when I find a recipe that is just perfect. And, how sweet of Eric to help make the cookies. Kevin loves to grill, and make eggs in the mornings, but that's about it. :))

Have a great week!

This post made me laugh. I'll tell you why.
I was sitting on my bed a couple of nights ago and I wsa listening to my two youngest kiddos talk and my son says to my daughter, "Why can't we ever have normal chocolate chip cookies?" I'm thinking to myself, "I don't get it, what's wrong with my chocolate chip cookies?"
Then my daughter says, "yea, mom always puts some kind of healthy crap in it."
I had to laugh. I always add oats to my cookies. As a special treat and surprise, I'm going to make these cookies for them and call them "Chocolate Chip Cookies Minus the Healthy Crap".

I have the same experience with chocolate chip cookies in my house. I tend to mess them making too crispy (aka burned). I will definitely be trying this! Thanks for dropping by my blog and for your compliment! I'm glad to have found your blog.

Looking at the ingredients it's the same as mine...except for 2 things...unsalted butter (I use reg. butter) and kosher salt (I use reg. salt)..Oh, and the cold thing..never chilled the cookies before baking. I guess that makes 3 things different! Now I'm curious because mine are really pretty good..I also make a recipe that uses a package of pudding...the test is on! Thanks for the recipe!

ooooh, i missed TWO recipes over here - and they both look delicious!! definitely taking note on both recipes - i'm curious about the need for the butter to be cold before you mix it - how can that even work, isn't it too hard? wonder if you can mix softened bitter then refrigerate the dough before you cook? i'm so curious, can't wait to try :)

I have been working on the SAME issue! A friend can make them perfect, but I cannot follow her recipe and get the same results. :/
I will try this one next!

Cookies are my favorite treat....I'll take them over cake, pie ice cream etc... Thanks for the recipe. They sound and look awesome!

I made the cookies last night and Man Alive! They are the best. I altered the cooking time a little because mine started to dry out too much. 375 for 5 to 6 min. then 350 for 5 to 6 min. I know it says to just adjust the temp without opening the oven door, but since I was making them in large batches, changing temps. took too long. I used the double oven and transfered inbetween.
The funny thing is...the two kiddos that complained about me adding "healthy junk" to every cookie that I make went to bed before the cookies were done.

What made me laugh, is I always make break-and-bakes and honestly have never made *real* homemade CC cookies!!
So in my head, mine are always perfect!! ;)

As always, you have the best packaging-- and honestly that's 90% of the gift anyway!!
