Hoping For A Miracle....

I just ordered this book this morning...

I'm really hoping it will help with some issues we're having
here at home.  Lately things have been a little rocky...to say the
least.  I hope my new book gets here SOON!
Anyone read this book?

Have a great week!

Oh girl, I feel for you. I have heard of that book. I hope it helps a lot. Megan suggested the Love and Logic books for me. They come for all ages. I have really gotten some good pointers out of it, and have found some things that have helped me a ton! I guess each age comes with rough patches. I hope it gets better soon. hugs!

Ugh...having 3 kids I feel for you. I have the book From Innocence to Entitlement by Jim Fay (Love and Logic). I think "entitlement" is such a big problem these days...you're not alone.

you'll have to let us know if it is good once you read it.

Leslie informed me the other day that ALL of her friends have more shoes than she does. . .oh I hate that comment more than just about anything! I could care less about what her friends have!

Promise you will talk about this book after you read it. I am very interested. I tell my hubby all the time that our kids have a huge entitlement problem, they think they deserve so much just because, it is so infuriating. I don't know how it came to be, I swear I don't feel like we have spoiled them with things, I do try to spoil them with love and time. So anyway, I will be waiting to hear what you discover. I hope it helps you and your situation.

Hi Kerri, I have not read the book, but have heard many good things about it and have been meaning to get a copy. You will have to let me know if it helps - I know little boys and they can really test you, that's for sure.
Good luck with everything.

Also, you asked about Nick's skeleton shirt. I got it at Old Navy several years ago (it was Joseph's shirt first).

Sounds like it's a good book, and I hope it helps. It sounds like it would be a good book for here, too.

Every family goes through those stages...believe me! I hope the book helps. I never read it, I'm from the Dr. Spock age of reason...it's a miracle my 4 kiddos even lived! Hope your week is good.

Oh Kerri, I have looked at a few books by those authors, I can't wait to hear your opinion. Please give us all updates as you learn. It's so much better learning with friends!:) hey, we should do a book club or something...that would be fun! in our spare time...right!:)
parenting is sooo hard isn't it!

HI kerri - i've heard of this title, but not read it ... hope you'll follow up with a review! A couple of years ago, Nancy Samalin - author of "Loving Without Spoiling" gave a lecture locally and she/her book were really great ... good luck!

I found your blog in Simplify and I'm glad I did - the book looks interesting - I am currently reading a couple of books to help me with my teens - being a mom is hard... but it's a privilege taken seriously... can't wait to read more of your posts.

I think you chose very well!
I have not read this book yet but I will be soon. However, over the many years of my parenting I have read alot of Richard and Linda Eyre's books - they are awesome and I think they helped me so much as a young mother.
You'll have to give a review on this book - I think it is an excellent subject!

Have not read this book. Richard and Linda Eyre are heroes of mine.

I raised my sons using a lot of ideas from them.

One of their kids was in a singing group with my son years ago.

They really have an amazing family.

I think feeling entitled is a huge issue with everyone these days.

While raising 4 kiddos my favorite go to parenting author was John Rosemond. http://www.rosemond.com/

The good thing is these issues come and go so hang in there.
