A Few Finds

Today, Eric and I met at Subway for lunch, and then headed across the street to check out
a re-uzit shop.  We're almost done with Brady's room...but we still need a few things.  It's not coming
along as smoothly as I hoped.  This decorating thing is sure hard for me.  I would so much prefer
Nate Berkus to come over and do it for me.  He makes it look so easy...and the room would be
awesome!  Anyway, back to the real world.  Here's what we found at the re-uzit shop....

tennis raquet- $2.00
metal basket- $5.00
wall mirror- $19.00

I was pretty excited about the mirror.  I've been looking and
pricing them for a couple of weeks now and the cheapest I could
find for a mirror this size without a frame was $40.00.  It only
took Eric about ten minutes this evening to remove the wooden
frame for me.  I'm hoping to finish a little project with that mirror
tomorrow.  We still need to find some sort of nightstand.  I have a
couple of used furniture stores in mind to check out...hopefully
Brady can be sleeping in his room sometime in the next few days!

Happy Christmas Season everyone!

And remember, presence is more important than presents.

A Game and A Treat

I'm not feeling very creative lately.
And, I don't really have anything to blog about either.

Maybe we can just chit chat for a little bit?  If you're not too busy.
I think I've just been lonely this week with my two favorite guys gone all day.
I kind of wish I had that week after Christmas back where we were just hanging out together.

I am happy that it's Friday!
We did get a little snow during the night...
and so the schools had a two hour delay today.   Yay!

We played this game with our extra time this morning.

One of Brady's Christmas gifts.  We found it at Toys R' Us for 4.99.
We have played and played and played it!
Eric and I have also played a game or two when Brady was in bed!
It really helps with addition too...but you don't have to tell the kids!

The other night Brady was in his room for quite awhile...and when he came out,
he wanted to show us a little gift he had put together for a boy in his class.
The boy's birthday was the next day...and he wanted to give him something.
Well, when I picked Brady up from school the next day...he was very sad.
Nick, the birthday boy did not say thank-you to Brady for the gift.
In fact, Brady said Nick didn't say anything when he gave him the card and bag
of goodies.  He put it in his backpack that morning and never said a word about it.
Birthday's aren't really celebrated at his school.
So, maybe Nick was embarrassed or something.
I didn't know what to say to Brady other than, "maybe Nick's parents didn't teach him any
manners."  I know, I said that.

I never got a chance to post about these yummy parfaits I made
for a Christmas get together.  Take away the candy canes
and you have a fun winter treat.

I added little marshmallows to the chocolate cake and lots of marshmallow
fluff to a can of frosting to make the topping super thick.  Sprinkle with cocoa.
The best part was the little tiny spoons I found at a supply store!  Twenty-five
spoons for .52 cents!

I Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Truffle crisp...it just sounds good!

Whiplash Whopper

This actually is a little scary...like a heart attack just waiting to happen!  But, I heard it is really spicy...and that's right up my alley!  My husband would think he hit the lottery if I told him we were going to get one of these!

Also at Burger King......
Funnel Cake Strips

So, you can get a Whopper and follow it up with this yummy treat!  This has to be good...anything fried that also comes with a sugary dipping sauce...oh my!  I can already taste it!

Wendy's Strawberry Frosty

I almost always go for chocolate...but this just looks like summer!

So, these are just a few things I have seen in the last week or so that have caught my eye!  I'm going to try really hard to avoid this stuff since I won't be going to the gym as often this summer.  Have any of you tried any of these new finds?

Cutest Ice Cream Sandwich Ever!

I bought these ice cream sandwiches for my son yesterday at Walmart.  I didn't realize when I bought them that they were the "mini" 100 calories ones.  What a suprise last night after dinner when Brady opened the box and saw how little they were!  They are actually a nice size little treat (although my son would not agree) and  for those of us trying to watch our weight...they are perfect!  Not to mention...they are the cutest darn things I've ever seen!

Yep, he talked me into letting him have TWO!
