Instagram Love

I don't think I've taken one picture with my real camera yet this summer!  However, I am enjoying Instagram!  It's so fun to take and post pictures.  I've been taking pictures of everything...even bird poop on my windshield. (It was actually one of my better pictures!)  My family is getting a bit tired of me snapping pictures all the time...but whatever.  I love seeing what others are taking pictures of.  Here are just a handful of pics I've taken this summer....

Are you instagram-ing?  (Is that a word?)  If so, I'd love to follow you!   You can find me on instagram @kerriburns

Enjoy your day...and take lots pictures!

Last Week

*Thanks so much for all of your kind words and birthday wishes to Brady on my previous post...I really do have the BEST blog friends in all of blogland!  I appreciate each and every one of you taking the time to comment on my blog.  :)

Last week we celebrated Brady's 9th birthday.
He asked if it could be a "low key" birthday.
He didn't want a party and only wanted a couple of presents.
He didn't have any ideas as far as gifts go...he really didn't care.
Such an easy going kid.

It has become a tradition in our house to have a treasure hunt with clues...and sometimes a map for Brady to find one of his birthday gifts.  We always hide the gift outside.

Brady was thrilled when he put the first letter of each clue together and figured out he was getting an ipod.

We gave Brady a list of options of things we could do on his birthday (none of them being tennis!).  He decided instead of going to his favorite restaurant for his birthday meal, he wanted me to cook steak, potatoes and broccoli.  And the only thing he wanted so badly to do...was the thing he does just about everyday.

Last week....Brady took some of his birthday money and bought  goldfish.  We tried to talk him out of it...but it was no use.  He named them after two people on his favorite tv show.

Don't worry...the water is clear now!

Last week my sister Meghan sent Brady this awesome birthday gift...and he LOVES it!  Thanks Aunt Meghan!

Last week Eric and I tried this 7 day diet....and we only made it a day and a half.  (A mom I know lost 10lbs in one week on this diet) It left us wondering why we are always willing to go to extremes to lose weight...but never willing to do what we know works???  Sometimes I don't know what's the matter with us!

Last week the tennis team was given their warm up jackets for the season...Brady got one too.  Today, he wore it to school...which suprised me.  Usually he likes to keep tennis on the down low at school.  I guess he's pretty proud to have a jacket like the high school boys and be a part of the team.

He is long overdue for a haircut!

Last week I helped served the teacher's dinner on the night of conferences.  We do the dinner on the evening where the school has early dismisal and the teachers start their conferences shortly thereafter.  The teachers stop into the teacher lounge to eat as they have openings in their schedule.  They always seem to enjoy their dinner and are always so appreciative.  We do a meal in the fall and one in the spring.  In the spring we always do a soup and salad bar.  We had 3 different soups and also pulled pork sandwiches.  We had a dessert bar too.  I made 35 mini butterfinger parfaits...but forgot to get a picture.   I think I posted that recipe before...but I couldn't find it.  Brady had a great conference and grade card...I'll just say we're kinda proud. :)

Brady & Mr. B

Last week, our trees were in full bloom.  It was a beautiful week...we even hit 80 degrees a couple of days.  Our grass is so green.   Brady wore shorts to school all week....in March!  Crazy crazy weather we're having....and I LOVE it!

And in other exciting news....last week, Brady finally learned how to blow a bubble!

Hope you're all having a great week!

Sharing My Tunes

My husband gave me this cd for Christmas and I have enjoyed it everyday since.
He calls it my island music.
It's kind of a mix of country and reggae.
When I listen to it, it doesn't feel like winter!
It feels like the middle of July on a sunny beach without a care in the world.
Yep, I'm in my own little world over here.

I thought I would share my tunes in case you needed a little help too getting through this cold winter!
 You're welcome. :)

Some Beach             Blake Shelton
Two Pina Coladas     Garth Brooks
Rhythm of Love        Plain White T's
Live, Laugh, Love     Clay Walker
One More Drinkin' Song    Jerrod Niemann
Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven   Kenny Chesney
No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem   Kenny Chesney
Pass the Dutchie        Musical Youth
One Love                   Bob Marley
Red Solo Cup             Toby Keith
Toes                            Zac Brown Band
Knee Deep                  Zac Brown Band
Three Little Birds        Bob Marley
I'm Yours                    Jason Mraz
It's Five O'Clock Somewhere   Alan Jackson

I was going to link all the videos...but then got lazy decided you could find them yourself on youtube if you wanted.  It really is a happy little cd.  Just don't get confused looking over the song titles and think it is my "drinking" cd!  It is not.  Although, if we get a big snow storm, I might think about bringing my beach chair into the livingroom and having that sweet husband of mine whip me up some pina coladas!

Bayou Billionaires

Last night we were flipping channels and came across
this show.  I think our jaws were dropped open the
entire thirty minutes!  I'm sure it's wrong on many levels-
but we watched...and we laughed.  I found this short clip...
I love the girl who loves her new teeth!

Hope your weekend is filled with laughs!

A Suprise In The Closet

Yesterday, I was looking in the front entryway closet for
shoes that no longer fit Brady (for my friend's garage
sale this weekend)...and what did I see?  Behind my
stash of wrapping paper and gift bags was Brady's backpack
from last year.  I had a funny feeling when  I saw it.
And, when I lifted it up...I could tell something was in there.

 Here's what I found:

Brady's lunch from the last day of school...back in June!  Yikes! How did I miss this?  (And I only have one child's stuff to keep track of!)  Thankfully there wasn't anything growing in
there....just a few goldfish and a half empty water bottle.

So, to my friends and family who think I'm always on top
of everything....now you know- I'm not!
